Pangandaran, W Java (ANTARA News) - A flood inundated residential areas and roads in Pangadanran District, West Java, following incessant rain on Monday afternoon.

The flooding was triggered by incessant heavy rain, Nana Ruhena, head of Pengandaran disaster mitigation office and fire brigade, said here, Tuesday.

Hundreds of homes in Putrapinang village, Kalipucang Sub-district, were flooded following downpour at around 4 p.m. on Monday, Yuyuk, a local inhabitant, said.

Since October 2018, floods have reportedly hit many villages in several provinces, such as West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau, Aceh, West Java, and East Java.

On Java Island, floods struck the districts of Tasikmalaya and Pangandaran in West Java Province, in early November.
