Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo arrived in Merauke, at the wee hours on Friday for a working visit in Papua Province.

Presidential Spokesman Bey Machmudin said in a press release received here on Friday morning the president arrived in Marauke after attending the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore.

Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft took off at Changi Airport at 6:50 p.m. local time on Thursday. It arrived at Mopah International Airport, Papua Province at 1:20 a.m local time on Friday.

The president, upon arrival, was greeted by Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Papua Regional Police Chief Insp. Gen Martuani Sormin and Chief of XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command, Maj Gen Yosua Pandit Sembiring.

Also welcoming the president at the airport were National Police Chief General Police Tito Karnavian, Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Special Staff to President Lenis Kagoya.
