Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu (ANTARA News) - A Malaysian investor PT Jana Sakti Serumpun has decided to renew its plan to open cow breeding farm in the district of Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu.

"Now everything related to government licenses have been secured. God willing, today we will renew the plan and start steps toward realization of business plan in cow breeding farm. Dato H Zainal said all workers recruited for the cow breeding farms and other business to be opened in Rejang Lebong will be local people.

"As an experiment , ten cows would be slaughtered every month. I have also received report that there are buyers of the animal leather, liver and intestine heart. That there is no problem in marketing," he said, adding, there has been no plan for export in the near future.

PT Jana Sakti Serumpun will also have plasma farms in Rejang Lebong.

Rejang Lebong Regent Ahmad Hijazi said he would facilitate the implementation of the investment plan by simplifying the procedure in line with the authority given by the Central Government.

He said the district administration would support the investment plan by PT Jana Sakti Serumpun especially it will open job for local people.

In 2016, PT Jana Sakti Serumpun planned to open cow breeding farms in the sub-district of Bermani Ulu to start with 90 cows, but the plan failed over licensing difficulty. The company will renew the plan toward the end of 2018.

The government encourages investment in cow breeding farm to reduce dependence on imports for live cows and beef.
