Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto went on a book hunt on the sidelines of his two-day visit in Singapore on Nov 26 and 27, 2018.

A press statement received by Antara here on Tuesday stated that Subianto took time to shop for books at Kinokuniya bookstore at Takashimaya Mall, Singapore, after meeting with PM Lee Hsien Loong.

Book shopping is his routine during his visit abroad.

"Wherever I go and every opportunity I get, I will definitely look out for a bookstore for history books, military books, economic books, books on world development, photography books, architectures, and so on," he remarked.

He noted that he liked reading since he was a teenager, and hoped that young people of Indonesia would also develop a hobby of reading to expand their insight and boost their knowledge.

During his two-day visit to Singapore, Subianto is scheduled to be a guest speaker at the Economist World Gala in 2019 Dinner, held by the world-renowned economic magazine, The Economist, on Tuesday (Nov 27).

Earlier, Subianto met Loong on Monday (Nov 26).

During the meeting, he discussed a number of strategic matters, one of which was about the economic policy that he would deliver at the Economist World in 2019 Gala Dinner.

Subianto explained that The Economist is a distinguished economic magazine in the world and all world leaders read the economic magazine.

The magazine reviews important challenges not only at the country level but also at the world level.
