Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - The sacking of Persib`s soccer coach Mario Gomez was not based on the failure of the team to win the Liga I or League One competition last match, commissioner of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), Kuswara S Taryono has said.

"Not (because of its failure to win). There are many assessments carried out thoroughly and comprehensively," Kuswara said here on Saturday.

According to Kuswara, there are somethings that can be announced to the public, and somethings that are not for public consumption about Gomez`s dismissal.

Gomez hailing from Argentina was contracted for two years, so Persib has to pay compensation for terminating the contract when the coach`s tenure was only about one year.

Regarding next candidate for the team`s coach, he asked the public to be patient, because there are many figures that should be considered before the final decision is taken.

"Just be patient. Hopefully in the near term the figure will be there, then we will let you know. Now we cannot say," he said.

Meanwhile, PT PBB Director Teddy Tjahjono said the termination of Gomez`s contract was due to his behavior. Gomez`s relationship with players of the team and officials is not conducive, he noted.

In fact, Gomez often criticized the team`s management and told the media about the problem of bonuses.
