Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo arrived in the Sub-district of Deli Serdang, in order to conduct a working visit to North Sumatra on Saturday.

The president, along with his entourage, arrived at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang Sub-district, at 11:50 a.m. local time, and they were welcomed by the Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi, Military Commander I / Bukit Barisan Major General MS Fadhilah, and North Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Agus Andrianto.

From Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang, the president and his team went straight to Langkat Sub-district to meet with Sheikh Haji Hasyim Al-Syarwani Tuan Guru Babussalam.

Later in the evening, Widodo is scheduled to attend the 2018 National Christmas Celebration at the T Rizal Noordin Multipurpose Building, Deli Serdang.

Following that, they will return to Jakarta on the Indonesian-1 Presidential Airplane through Kualanamu International Airport.

Also accompanying the president on the journey to North Sumatra Province were Minister of State Secretariat, Pratikno; Head of Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono; Presidential Military Secretary Marsda TNI, Trisno Hendradi; Presidential Special Staff, Ari Dwipayana and Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin; and Presidential Security Force, Commander Maj. Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak; as well as Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin.
