Ternate (ANTARA News) - The search and rescue team in Ternate, North Maluku, found Yotan Dawowo (48), a fisherman who had reportedly been missing since last week. SAR team rescued him in Sum Obi village, South Halmahera.

Head of Ternate Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), M Arafah said here on Sunday, Jan 20, the office received information at 10:30 p.m. that residents of Pengiri Village, North Seram, had found the fisherman in a boat in the North Seram waters. He was then evacuated to Pengiri Village, North Seram.

The SAR team will work jointly with the authority in Seram to help returning the fisherman to his village.

Yotan left Tobalai Island on a Blue Ciris longboat to go to Sum Village on Monday (14/1) at 9:00 a.m., but there was no information about him since then nor did he reach the village.

After receiving the information, Ternate Basarnas Office begun its search operation.
