Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), the eldest son of former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), is on a political safari tour in the northern coastal region of East Java Province, on Jan 22-24, 2019.

He arrived in Surabaya on Tuesday evening, and would proceed to Tuban and Bojonegoro on Wednesday (23/1), and Lamongan as well as Gresik on Thursday (24/1).

The Democrat Party, which was founded by SBY, pays special attention to East Java, which is a vast, crucial and strategic province, according to AHY.

His visit is to campaign for legislative candidates from the Democrat Party, participating in the legislative election on April 17, 2019.

"I will visit East Java not only once or twice, but frequently until April 17," AHY, the party`s commander for the Joint Task Force (Kogasma), said.

During his stay in Surabaya, AHY was flanked by Trenggalek District Head Emil Dardak, concurrently deputy governor-elect of East Java.

His agenda in East Java included meetings with cadres of the Democrat Party and campaigning for its legislative candidates.

Prior to East Java, AHY toured South Sulawesi Province that took him to several cities and districts including Makassar, Pinrang, and Pare-Pare.
