Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian economy grew 5.17 percent last year, up from 5.07 percent a year earlier, Chief of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Suhariyanto stated.

"This demonstrates a good trend. As compared to the past few years, the growth in 2018 is fairly high, at 5.17 percent (whole year/cumulative-to-cumulative/c-to-c)," he remarked here on Wednesday.

The Indonesian economy grew 5.07 percent in 2017, 5.03 percent in 2016, and 4.88 percent in 2015.

"In the midst of global challenges throughout 2018, the 2018 economic growth is a good achievement," he added.
