Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State construction company PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk posted a net profit of Rp4.6 trillion last year, up 9.9 percent from Rp4.2 trillion a year earlier.

The company also saw its operating income grow 7.9 percent to Rp48.7 trillion in 2018 from Rp45.2 trillion the year before.

"The improving performance of the company all the time suggests that as a development agent, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has always given value added to all stakeholders," Waskita Karya SVP Corporate Secretary, Shastia Hadiarti, said in a press statement released on Thursday.

The company`s performance was getting better last year when it received payments for projects and bailout fund for land worth Rp36.75 trillion.

The payments were made for projects, including Batang -Semarang toll road at Rp5.75 trillion, Palembang Light Rail Transit (LRT) at Rp3.9 trillion, Pasuruan - Probolinggo toll road at Rp2.1 trillion, and Salatiga - Kartasura toll road at Rp2 trillion.

The others were Terbanggi Besar - Kayu Agung toll road (VGF portion of Semarang-Batang toll road) at Rp1.96 trillion, other projects at Rp18.23 trillion, and return of land bailout fund at Rp2.8 trillion.

Throughout last year, the company completed several projects, including South Sumatra LRT, Soekarno-Hatta Airport railway line, Raknamo dam in East Nusa Tenggara province, sections 3 and 4 of Pejagan - Pemalang toll road, Pemalang - Batang toll road, and Batang - Semarang toll road.

The others were Salatiga - Kartasura toll road, Solo - Ngawi toll road, Ngawi - Kertosono toll road, Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, Kertajati Airport, and runway at Aji Pangeran Tumenggung (APT) Pranoto Airport in Samarinda
