Jakarta (ANTARA) - South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Kim Chang-beom and Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Umar Hadi inaugurated the new executive board of Indonesia-Korea Friendship Association (IKFA) for the 2019-2024 period.

Indonesian businessman Adhi Wargono was elected as IKFA general chairman for the 2019-2024 term, replacing Nick. T Dammen who held the post from 2010 to 2015.

"I believe that South Korea and Indonesia need each other particularly in the run up to industry 4.0," Wargono said during the inauguration of KFA executive board in Jakarta on Thursday.

KFA aims to forge the friendship between the two countries through arts, culture, sports and business.

The creation of the new KFA executive board is the suggestion of Ambassador Kim Chang-beom, he said.

The IKFA executive board comprises steering committee with Prof. Dr. Rokhmin Dahuri, Abd. Nick T. Dammen, Geunhyo An, Yi Sun Hyeong and Darmawan Djayusman as members and executive council with Adhi Wargono as chairman, : Jimmy Berlian Sutopo as vice chairman. Danang Girindrawardana as secretary general and Ratna Renggogeni as vice secretary general.

Meanwhile, Rina Novita was elected as chief of creative entertainment section, Irman Alfian Zahiruddin as chief of education section, Christopher Winata and Yudian Alkatsyah as chiefs of business development section,

Dr. Harry Darsono PhD was elected as chief of art & culture section: ,Kesit B. Handoyo as chief of sports section, and Hur Young Soon as chief of relations and translation section.
