Jakarta (ANTARA) - Two trucks of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina were hijacked on Monday at around 5 a.m. local time and later found near Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.

"It is true that two Pertamina trucks were hijacked, but the case is now being probed by the police," PT Pertamina Patra Niaga spokesperson Ayulia informed Antara here on Monday.

The company awaits the results of the police investigation, she remarked.

The trucks, containing biodiesel fuel, were hijacked by unknown people and driven toward Merdeka Palace.

The two trucks were stopped while entering Ancol Toll Road by 10 people emerging from a pickup car.

The people forced the drivers of the two trucks to come out of the vehicles, saying that they would take the trucks to the palace.
