Sukoharjo, C. Java (ANTARA) - Thousands of people from all regions across Indonesia, a part of the Muhammadiyah Young Exponents, declared their support to incumbent Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin, at the Lamin Etam Building, Sukoharjo, Central Java.

Propagating support for an advanced Indonesia, the group was spearheaded by 34 Muhammadiyah Young Exponents from all over Indonesia.

The declaration was attended by, among others, senior Imam Addaruqutni, also the National Declarator, Wahyudi network of Muhammadiyah entrepreneurs, and Faozan Amar, the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Special Da'wah Institution, and around 5,000 participants from the Solo Muhammadiyah Exponent. Addaruqutni made six announcements in his national speech, which was attended by thousands of Muhammadiyah Young Exponents.

According to Addaruqutni, the Muhammadiyah Young Exponents rejected all forms of politicization of mosques, as well as hoaxes, hate speeches, and narratives that could hinder national unity.

In fact, the Muhammadiyah Young Exponent rejected the khilafah by upholding the Wasathiyah Islam, which was loyal to the Pancasila State as Darul Ahdi Wasy-Syahadah, the state of agreement.

The Muhammadiyah Young Exponents also appreciated all the development work that had been carried out by the Government of the Working Cabinet for the welfare of the people and added that the Muhammadiyah, as a movement, prioritized real work.

The Muhammadiyah Young Exponent supported Widodo and Amin to lead Indonesia in the 2019-2024 period, and also appealed to all residents to come to the polling station (TPS) and vote for the pair.

"We make this declaration together with the young Muhammadiyah exponents who are determined to work toward the victory of Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin," said Addaruqutni, who is also the former Secretary General of the Indonesian Mosque Council.

Besides Addaruqutni, one of the declarators, Rizah Bahawerez, said that thousands of Muhammadiyah Young Exponents were present to show their support for Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin.

"Muhammadiyah youth from all over Indonesia today, unite in their determination to support Jokowi-Amin," said Bahawerez.
