Jakarta (ANTARA) - Eight witnesses were summoned on Thursday by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) over a bribery case of drinking water supply system projects of the Public Works and Housing Ministry for the 2017-2018 period.

The eight witnesses will face questioning in the case against the named suspects: chief of the strategic drinking water supply system working unit in Lampung, identified by his initials as ARE and chief of the emergency drinking water supply system working unit, identified by his initials as TMN.

"Today, we plan to interrogate eight witnesses in the case against two suspects, identified as ARE and TMN, to probe their alleged role in a bribery case linked to the development of a drinking water supply system at the Public Works and Housing Ministry in the 2017-2018 budget year," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah noted here on Thursday.

Five of the witnesses to be grilled in the case against ARE comprise ex-director general of housing, planning, and urban development Sri Hartoyo; former chief of the strategic drinking water supply system working unit T. Bandaso; secretary of the directorate general of housing, planning, and urban development Doddy Krisnandi; Public Works and Housing Ministry's civil servant Muhammad Sundoro; PT Adhi Karya human resources development manager Harimawan; and General Manager of PT Brantas' Division II Dody Setiawan.

PT Wahana Director Zaini Abidin Noor, PT Adhi Karya General Manager Harimawan, and General Manager of PT Brantas' Division II Dody Setiawan are the three witnesses to face questioning in the case against TMN.

The KPK has named eight suspects in connection with the case, of which four, who had allegedly bribed the officials are PT Wijaya Kusuma Emindo (WKE) President Director, identified by his initials as BS; PT WKE Director, identified by her initials as LSU; PT Tashida Sejahtera Perkasa (TSP) director, identified by her initials as IIR; and PT TSP director, identified by his initials as YUL.

The four suspects will go on trial at the Jakarta anti-corruption court.

The four other suspects, including ARE and TMN, are charged with receiving bribes.
