Kupang (ANTARA) - Officials of South Central Timor District's general election commission (KPU) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), were astonished to find 114 rolls carrying the form of the DAA 1 Plano model (an election form) for North Sumatra, reportedly the district's election logistics.

"The rolls containing the form were spotted by officials in TTS District while taking down several election logistics on Thursday (Apr 4) yesterday," Jemris Fointuna, a member of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), stated when confirmed in Kupang on Friday.

Fointuna opined that the several hundred rolls of the DAA 1 Plano and North Sumatra model forms might have been wrongly packed by the DAA format provider.

Fointuna remarked that several rolls of the form containing the Plano DAA 1 model will soon be sent back to the North Sumatra KPU.

"We have appealed to the KPU in NTT to send the stray logistics back to North Sumatra," Fointuna stated.

Meanwhile, NTT's KPU Commission member Yosafat Koli, in a statement in Kupang, admitted to instances of election logistics going astray, though earlier such incidents solely occurred in the NTT region.

According to Koli, logistics from other regions would oftentimes land up in NTT, but they will promptly be sent back to the right location.

"We are also currently monitoring so as to not allow our logistics (NTT) to get misplaced another time," he affirmed.

Koli confirmed that his side had continued to look into the likelihood of election logistics for NTT landing up in other regions. "If logistics for NTT are found in other areas, we will request for them to be sent back," he stated.

Yosafat admitted that NTT was currently facing a shortage of 998,847 ballots, though it would be provided at the earliest prior to the election being held.
