"To ladies and gentlemen who have just arrived, please get into the stadium since the doors are already open," one of the event's organizers said.
By 03.00 a.m. on Sunday, tens of thousands of people have packed the soccer field at the stadium. Some of them sat on the tribune, Antara observed.
According to the schedule, the campaign will begin at around 05.00 a.m. with the supporters performing fajr (dawn) prayers congregationally at the stadium.
The organizing committee has reportedly provided 24 water trucks carrying eight thousand liters of water each for the supporters to take ablution before performing the prayers.
The peak of the Prabowo-Sandi pair's grand campaign is scheduled to begin at 07.00 a.m. and end at 10.00 a.m. local time.
The event's organizing committee has predicted some 1 million people will attend the campaign.
Spokesman for the Prabowo-Sandi pair's national campaign team Suhendra Ratu Prawiranegara believed the number of participants will exceed one million.
Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto will compete with incumbent President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who teams up with Ma'ruf Amin in the presidential election scheduled for April 17, 2019.
