Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - Incessant rains saw parts of Waru Sub-district in Sidoarjo District, East Java Province, inundated at a height between 50 and 70 centimeters on Thursday.

The downpour and clogged drains caused the flooding, Wildan, a resident of Berbek, Sidoarjo, said.

Berbek was the worst affected by the flood with flood waters reaching up to more than 70 cm.

The main road connecting Waru and Surabaya was flooded. Tropodo residential complex and roads in Berbek were inundated, causing several motorcycles and cars to break down.

Floods hit several regions in Indonesia during this current transitional period from the rainy to the dry season, as high precipitation still occurs in parts of the country.
