The election visit program is intended to show many parties that the election is conducted on the principles of directness, public activity, freedom, confidentiality, honesty and fairness.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Elections Commission (KPU) has organized a program, wherein KPU delegates from several countries, representatives, ambassadors from friendly countries, international NGOs, domestic election observers, academics and representatives of ministries and institutions in Jakarta, will visit Indonesia to observe the implementation of the general elections.
"The election visit program is a regular event. Since 2014, we have been undertaking election visit programs for the presidential elections and simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada)," Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Arief Budiman said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The election visit program is aimed at proving that the election is being conducted based on the principles of directness, public activity, freedom, confidentiality, honesty and fairness.

"All parties may observe, monitor, and give notes, as well as criticism," he said.

Budiman said that Indonesia has become a place for others to learn about electoral affairs. "Several countries often ask us to monitor their election activities," he said.

During the program, the participants will exchange knowledge about the elections.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, the KPU will invite all the participants to observe and monitor the implementation of the election.
