Jakarta (ANTARA) - Three Indonesian representatives will play in the 2019 Badminton Asia Championships' quarter-finals at the Wuhan Sports Center, Wuhan, China.

The three Indonesian representatives comprising the men's doubles pair of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo will clash against Chinese pair Han Chengkai and Zhou Haodong.

During the second round scheduled on Thursday (Apr 25), Marcus and Kevin beat the Hong Kong pair Chang Tak Ching and Yeung Ming Nok, with a score of 21-18, 21-18.

The women's doubles pair Della Destiara Haris and Rizki Amelia Pradipta will clash against Chinese Taipei duo Chang Ching Hui and Yang Ching Tun.

Earlier, Della and Rizki had made a clean sweep, trouncing over Chinese pair Dong Wenjing and Feng Xueying in two games, scoring 21-18, 21-16, according to the official BWF website.

In the mixed doubles, Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, representing the Red and White teams, will later face off against Thai players: Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

Prior to easing into the quarter-finals, Hafiz and Gloria made the Indian pair Utkarsh Arora and Karishma Wadkar taste defeat in the second round, with a score of 21-10, 21-15.

The quarter-final championship match, with US$400 thousand up for grabs, will take place on Friday (Apr 26) from 17:00 local time.
