Jakarta (ANTARA) - A lawmaker was served with a summons by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday to appear as witness in a graft case linked to the Riau-1 thermal power plant (PLTU) construction contract.

Lawmaker, Nawafie Saleh, from the Golkar Party faction in the House of Representatives (DPR) will face questioning as witness in the case against suspended president director of state electricity company PT PLN, identified by his initials as SFB, who was named a suspect.

"He will face interrogation as a witness in the case against SFB, named a suspect in a graft case linked to the Riau-1 thermal power plant (PLTU) construction contract," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.

The anti-graft body has also planned to cross-examine two other witnesses -- Finance Director of PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Investasi (PJBI) Amir Faisal and Director of PT One Connect Indonesia Herwin Tanuwidjaja -- in the case against SFB on Thursday.

On Wednesday (May 8), the KPK also issued a summons to another lawmaker of the Golkar Party faction, Melchias Marcus Mekeng, as a witness in the same case.

The interrogation is being conducted with the objective of extracting Mekeng's confirmation on a sum of money received by ex-deputy chief of the DPR Commission VII, identified by her initials as EMS, who has been imprisoned.

The KPK has implicated SFB over graft in the Riau-1 thermal power plant construction contract on Tuesday (Apr 23).

The commission has leveled accusation against SFB for taking a bribe from Blackgold Natural Resources shareholder Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo over the project.
