Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Police's Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) has taken into custody a terror suspect believed to have links to Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday (May 8).

"R alias Eky, the owner of 'Wanky Cell' (a cellular phone shop), was the terror suspect detained yesterday evening," a spokesman of the Jakarta Police Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono noted in Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday.

During its raid on the shop located on MH Tabrani Street of North Bekasi, the anti-terror squad discovered two explosive materials in the form of pipes kept in a locker.

Yuwono confirmed that the police had successfully defused one of the explosive materials.

"Last night, we had defused one explosive material, and we will follow the same practice for the rest of the material today," he stated.

R was taken into police custody on the basis of a probe following the arrest of some suspects since Saturday (May 4).

The anti-terror team arrested terror suspects, identified by their initials as SL, AN, and MC in Bekasi, but one died in police shooting.

A day later, the police had taken into arrest two other suspected terrorists in Bekasi, but one was killed when the bomb he was carrying exploded.

Yuwono noted that the arrest was connected to the earlier raids in Bekasi District and Bekasi City.

The police are certain of the link between the suspects and the JAD Lampung network, but further investigation was pending at the scene of crime.

Arief, a shop worker, expressed surprise on finding out that his boss was involved in a terrorist network.

"He is such a good man. He likes to treat his employees well. I have worked for him for a year," he revealed.

However, Arief admitted to having no knowledge about the explosive in the locker, as every employee was assigned a separate locker. EDITED BY INE
