Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Election Commission (KPU) has begun the vote recapitulation process at the national level today.

The recapitulation is planned to be completed on May 22 and be followed by the declaration of the presidential election results.

On the basis of the schedule, the nationwide recapitulation will kick off from Bali Province at 13:00 WIB local time.

The vote recapitulation abroad has concluded in 129 areas out of the total 130 working areas of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN).

KPU Commissioner Evi Novida Ginting remarked that out of the 130 PPLN (overseas voting committees), vote recapitulation in the PPLN Kuala Lumpur had yet to be completed.

"In the meantime, vote recapitulation in other PPLNs has concluded. Hence, we wait for the process to be completed in the PPLN Kuala Lumpur," he noted.

The vote recapitulation for the 2019 Election in Kuala Lumpur had yet to be completed since the KPU held a revote for 319,293 postal voters.

The KPU's voting count system (Situng) has recorded 75.7 percent votes. As of Friday at 12:30 p.m. local time, Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin secured 56.21 percent of the votes, while Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno won 43.79 percent.

In an official statement as a disclaimer by Situng, the KPU laid emphasis on the fact that the data entry appearing in the Votes Count Menu is copied as is, which is the same data as the numbers penned on the copy of the C1 Form received by the city/regency level KPU from the Votes Collectors Groups (KPPS).

All errors in data filling on Form C1 can be rectified during a public recapitulation plenary meeting at the sub-district level. Any differences in the entries in Situng and the C1 Form can be corrected in accordance with the data mentioned in the C1.
