"The investigators have received information that Kivlan Zen will be cooperative and respond to a summons from the investigators."
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The police have revoked the overseas travel ban on former chief of the Army's Strategic Reserve Command Major General (ret) Kivlan Zen, citing that his passport would expire soon.

Kivlan Zen is not allowed to travel abroad since his passport will expire soon, Chief of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters Inspector General M Iqbal said in Jakarta on Saturday.

"We got the information from the immigration authorities. Hence, investigators deem it unnecessary to impose an overseas travel ban on Kivlan Zen," he said in a short text message.

In addition, Kivlan Zen has also assured that he will be cooperative while he is being questioned, Iqbal said.

"The investigators have received information that Kivlan Zen will be cooperative and respond to a summons from the investigators," he said.

Kivlan Zen has been reported to the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) for allegedly spreading a hoax

The police are scheduled to summon Kivlan Zen for questioning on Monday (May 13). He was served a summons at terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Friday evening shortly before he boarded a Batam-bound plane. He was supposed to travel to Brunei via Batam.

Kivlan Zen's lawyer, Pitra Romadhoni, said earlier in the day, his client who has been banned from traveling abroad is now in Batam, along with his family.

"It is not true that our client has travelled to Singapore or Brunei or has been arrested or named a suspect. The truth is that Kivlan Zen is now in Batam to meet his relatives," Romadhoni said.
