Doha, Qatar (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla landed at the Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, as a stopover in his journey to Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday.

Kalla and his wife Mufidah, on arrival at the airport at 5:20 a.m. local time, were extended a warm welcome by Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Muhammad Basri Sidehabi and Indonesian Defense Attaché for Iran and Qatar Colonel (Mar) Harwin Dicky Wijanarko.

The vice president thereafter headed to the special waiting room and is scheduled to take a 6.5-hour flight at 8:05 a.m. local time to Geneva.

Kalla and his entourage are expected to land at the Cointrin International Airport in Geneva at 1:35 p.m. local time.

According to vice presidential spokesman Husain Abdullah, Kalla is expected to hold bilateral discussions with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Wan Azizah Wan Ismail at Hotel Beau Rivage on Wednesday (May 15).

The vice president will thereafter attend an event "The Christchurch Call to Action” and a Dinner Tech for Good Summit in Paris, France.

The meeting will cover discussion on the latest terror attacks in New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

On Thursday (May 16), Kalla will also deliver a national address at the forum Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction to be held at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG).

At the meeting, Kalla will highlight Indonesia's efforts to lower disaster risks and restoration measures to handle the impacts of disaster.
