Jakarta (ANTARA) - Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu expressed concern that three percent of the Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel were exposed to radicalism and disagree with the state ideology Pancasila.

"I am deeply concerned over the result of the Defense Ministry's observation recently regarding to Pancasila. which is the cement of the society. The damage of Pancasila, is the damage of our unity. The fall of Pancasila is the fall of this country," Ryacudu said in a gathering held in the TNI headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Wednesday.

The former Army Chief of Staff said, he willfully disclose the issue in the gathering attended by active as well as retired military personnel, to raise awareness and encourage retired officers to help addressing the issue.

"In this moment of gathering, there are retired officers, together we can address (the issue) to avoid any unwanted problems for Indonesia," the minister remarked.

He called on all soldiers to keep their military oath. "We called on them (soldiers) to keep the military oath, faithful to the Unitary State of Indonesia with its ideology Pancasila. We should not messing around with the oath."

The ministry's research has also showed that 23.4 percent of college students and 23.3 percent high school students are agree with Islamic state.

"As many as 18.1 percent private companies' employees are disagree with Pancasila, 19.4 percent civil servants and 19.1 percent state firms employees are disagree with Pancasila," he said.

"Let us maintain the nation's unity, because this is one main task of the TNI, including the retired officials," he added.
