Semarang (ANTARA) - Vice presidential candidate Kiai Haji Ma'ruf Amin affirmed that the victory of him and presidential candidate Joko Widodo declared in the 2019 presidential election remains in limbo, as he awaited the Constitutional Court's decision.

"Based on the 'quick count' (and real count), victory was declared, and the KPU too announced victory, but it was still in limbo. The victory is still 'casual' and awaiting the court's decision," Amin remarked during a speech at the national and halalbihalal (get-together) meetings with the Management of the Central Java chapter of Nahdlatul Ulama (the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia) here on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, KH Ma'ruf Amin, who also served as NU's supreme leader, expressed gratitude that the 2019 presidential election was held safely and peacefully despite rioting erupting sometime back.

"However, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI)-the Indonesian National Police (Polri) can overcome the unrest that is not great. Thank God, this country remains safe. This is what we are grateful for," he affirmed.

On the occasion, Amin invited all sections of society, especially scholars, to continue to maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

During the interview session with the media crew following the event, Amin reiterated that the dispute resolution efforts related to the vote acquisition results of the 2019 Presidential Election in the Constitutional Court were correct and in line with rules.

"We adhere to the principle. Now that we have completed the process to get the dispute resolved in the Constitutional Court, it is right and correct and in line with the rules of the election. Do not resolve disputes on the streets," he added.
