Jakarta (ANTARA) - Mohamad Irfan Ali, the son of Hatta Ali, the Supreme Court chairman, was buried at the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Jakarta, Saturday.

The convoy carrying the body arrived at Karet Bivak TPU at around 12:50 WIB accompanied by several hundred mourners.

The body was buried in the AAI Block, with resounding prayers and tahlil sentences by Ustaz Haji Ahmad Husni Ismail.

The family, relatives, and mourners were inconsolable when the mortal remains were put to rest.

Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia Hatta Ali maintained a stern composure when his first son was buried.

He appeared to be carrying his grandson and intermittently consoling his wife Andi Rosdiati and bereaved wife, Wahyuningsih Sofyan.

Mohamad Irfan Ali was born in Jakarta on November 11, 1978.

He died in a motor accident while touring in Namibia, southern Africa.

In a curriculum vitae read out before the funeral, the deceased had received his education at the Faculty of Economics, University of Hasanuddin, Makassar, and had postgraduated from the University of Indonesia.

During his lifetime, the deceased was known to be a commissioner in several companies, including PT Mandala Putra Prima, PT Nurbaitullah Tour and Travel, and telecommunications company Telkomsel, from 2018 to the present.

Mohamad Irfan Ali is survived by his wife and three sons.
