Gunungputri, Bogor (ANTARA) - The Bogor Police Resort, West Java, conducted checks on Jakarta-bound vehicles at the Gunung Putri tollgate since 5 a.m. local time, Thursday, before announcement of the Constitutional Court's (MK's) ruling on the presidential election dispute.

"The checking is primarily for vehicles, such as four and six wheelers, including buses, heading for Jakarta," Chief of the Gunung Putri Police Precinct Commissioner Yudi Kusyadi confirmed.

By Thursday afternoon, the police had yet to find anything suspicious in the vehicles that were checked, he stated.

Vehicles passing through the tollgate were mostly buses and cars carrying factory workers, he remarked.

"Right now, the check is still ongoing. The situation is safe and conducive," he noted.

Before checking the vehicles driving towards Jakarta, the Bogor Police Resort had conducted overnight patrolling prior to the announcement of the MK's ruling.

The MK was scheduled to deliver its ruling on the presidential election dispute on Thursday (June 27) following the convening of the Consultative Meeting of Judges (RPH), MK spokesman Fajar Laksono Soeroso remarked on Wednesday.
The MK was earlier set to announce the ruling on June 28. However, on the basis of the outcome of the consultative meeting on Monday (June 24), the constitutional judges had agreed to announce it on Thursday at 12:30 local time.

The Subianto-Sandi pair challenged the General Elections Commission's (KPU's) announcement of the presidential election result in the MK.

The pair accused the commission of having "systematically, structurally, and massively" manipulated the election and increased the incumbent's tally – which stood at 85 million votes against Subianto's 68 million votes – by some 22 million votes.
