Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Constitutional Court (MK) had registered as many as 260 cases on legislative election 2019 result disputes since Monday (1/7), as stated by the Head of Public Relations and National Affairs of MK Fajar Laksono.

"We have done the registration by transfering the application's data to the Book of Constitutional Cases Registration (BRPK) and stated the Letter of Constitutional Cases Registration (ARPK) to all applicants," Laksono said at MK Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

After the legislative election results were out until May, MK received 340 cases but in file verification process several applications were requested by the same political parties in one province. So that there were only 260 of them processed to registration step.

"MK checked the cases applications based on their provinces, therefore applications requested by the same political parties in one province would be merged," Laksono added.

Of those 260 cases, 248 cases requested by political parties, one case requested by Berkarya Party over the parliamentary threshold, one case requested by Papua's indigenous community.

While the other 10 cases were requested by candidates of Regional Representative Council (DPD) members from six provinces, namely North Sumatera, West Nusa Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Papua, and West Papua.
