We would like to bring these cities together with our broadband, and through our participation in this event, we can share our experiences with Pacific countries that are also involved in the exhibition
Auckland (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics gave a ringside view of Indonesia’s excellence in telecommunications, through the Indonesia broadband Palapa Ring, in the 1st Pacific Exposition 2019 being held in Auckland, New Zealand. Head of the Telecommunication and information Accessibility Body (BAKTI), Anang Achmad Latif said to Antara in Auckland, Friday, that the Pacific Exposition was an opportunity for the ministry to exhibit their capabilities, especially considering the fact that in the last four years, the ministry has been focusing on the development of telecommunication in the eastern part of Indonesia.

“We are currently focusing on developing telecommunication in Papua, West Papua, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara, where the people of each province have similarities with those in the Pacific countries,” he said.

Through the exhibition, the ministry wishes to showcase advancement in broadband connections that link cities with one another, especially in the eastern region, Latif believed.

“We would like to bring these cities together with our broadband, and through our participation in this event, we can share our experiences with Pacific countries that are also involved in the exhibition,” he added.

A number of countries have evinced interest in understanding how Indonesia built its connection undersea and by other methods, he continued.

“There were a number of Pacific countries with islands within their territories that wanted to know our experiences in building connections across land and sea with all our limitations and the availability of electric power,” he added.

Based on the interests of these countries, he intended launch seminars in the Pacific countries on a number of issues, including how to choose the technology that would be used and network designs. (INE)
