Koba, Babel (ANTARA) - The police in Central Bangka District, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, arrested 11 people on charges of trafficking crystal meth since May 2019.

"We arrested the 11 suspects at several locations. Five of them were arrested in Lubuk Besar Sub-district, four in Sungaiselan Sub-district, and the rest from other places," Chief of the Central Bangka Police Resort Adjunct Senior Commissioner Edison Ludy Bard Sitanggang remarked in Koba, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Monday.

During the raid, the police also confiscated 14.04 grams of crystal meth valued at Rp21 million, a motorcycle, a car, and 11 cellular phones.

The 11 suspects, aged between 24 and 49 years, were involved in six drug cases.

"Currently, all suspects along with the evidence are held at the Central Bangka Police Resort for further investigation," he confirmed.

If found guilty, the suspects could face a minimum prison term of five years and be fined a minimum of Rp1 billion in accordance with the law.
