Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) - Wings Air will open a flight route linking Pangkalpinang, capital of Bangka Belitung Province, to Bandung, capital of West Java Province, starting August 9, 2019.

Wings Air will serve the new flight route daily, from Pangkalpinang at 2:30 p.m. local time and from Bandung at 6:10 a.m. local time, the executive general manager of state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura 2 of the Depati Amir Airport branch, Chuanda noted in Pangkalpinang,on Wednesday.

Wings Air, a subsidiary of the Lion Air Group, will operate an ATR 72-500/600 aircraft to serve the hour-and-a-half flight.

Lion Air general manager for Pangkalpinang, Amar Fernando remarked that the plan to open the flight route is designed to cater to the demand for air transport linking the two cities.

Wings Air is also contemplating on opening a flight route linking the H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport in Belitung to the Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung thrice a week, he remarked.

The ticket for the Pangkalpinang-Bandung flight will cost Rp828 thousand.
