Pontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Syariah-compliant lender BNI Syariah posted a net profit of Rp315.27 billion in the second quarter of 2019, an increase of 55.32 percent, from Rp202.9 billion in June 2018.

The bank also witnessed its assets in the second quarter of 2019 swell 12.5 percent to Rp42.49 trillion year-on-year (yoy) from that during the corresponding quarter of last year, BNI Syariah's Finance and Operations Director Wahyu Avianto stated at a dialog with journalists in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on Thursday.

"The figure is higher than the industrial growth of 10.91 percent," he remarked.

On the business side, BNI Syariah channeled financing worth Rp31.66 trillion, up 26.03 percent yoy, with the consumer segment contributing the biggest share of Rp14.53 trillion, or 45.9 percent.

"The commercial segment contributed Rp9.14 trillion, or 28.88 percent; the small and medium business segment, Rp5.94 trillion, or 18.77 percent; the micro segment, Rp1.69 trillion, or 5.34 percent; and hasanah card, Rp352.61 billion, or 1.5 percent," he stated.

In the meantime, third-party fund placement rose 12.13 percent to reach Rp36.32 trillion, which surpasses the industrial growth of 10.57 percent

The subsidiary of state lender BNI currently has 369 outlets across Indonesia aside from 1,746 Syariah Channeling Offices (SCO) at the BNI branch offices serving the opening of BNI Syariah accounts, he added.
