Ambon, Maluku (ANTARA) - The 10 yachts participating in the Spice Island Darwin-Ambon Yacht Race (SIDAYR) 2019 have arrived at the finish line on Negeri Amahusu Beach, Nusaniwe Sub-District, Ambon Municipality, Maluku Province.

The first yacht reaching the finish line was Antipodes, with skipper Alen Ttuyer and 13 crew members, on Monday (Aug 5) at 9:45 p.m. local time, with a total traveling time of 58 hours and 14 minutes, Ary, member of the organizing committee, noted here on Friday.

Antipodes departed for Ambon from the Darwin seaport in Australia on Saturday, (Aug 3), at 10 a.m. local time.

The last yacht arriving in Ambon was Pandora, with skipper Rick Setter, on Thursday, Aug 8, at 8:12 p.m. local time, with a total travel time of 130 hours and 12 minutes.

On Aug 6, yachts arriving at the finish line were Colie, with skipper Doug Sallis, and a traveling time of 76 hours and 53 minutes; Cockatoo, with skipper Mattdeo, clocking a time of 78 hours and 21 minutes; and Wallop, with skipper Marcus Ilton, in 80 hours and 41 minutes.

On Aug 7, the arriving yachts comprised Vitamin B, with skipper Stev, clocking 94 hours and nine minutes; Liquidity II, with skipper Greg Dix, in 95 hours and 15 minutes; Finally, with skipper Neville Gill, in 95 hours and 40 minutes; and Pseodorca, with skipper Carol Parmer, in 106 hours and 32 minutes.

Ourphilosophy, with skipper Glen Stanford, reached the finish line on Aug 9, with a total traveling time of 119 hours and 45 minutes. Related news: DAYR has positive impact on ambon city tourism
