Jakarta (ANTARA) - Two Indonesian badminton women's doubles pairs broke into the semifinals of the Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Open 2019 held at the Nguyen Du Club, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The Anggia Shitta Awanda/Pia Zebadiah Bernadet and Della Destiara Haris/Rizki Amelia Pradipta pairs are among the five Indonesian doubles players competing in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The Anggia/Pia pair advanced to the semifinals after getting the better of Thai pair Chasinee Korepap/Kwanchanok Sudjaipraparat, 21-14, 21-19, while Della/Rizki defeated Thailand's sixth-seeded pair of Chayanit Chaladchalam/Phataimas Muenwong, 11-21, 21-14, 21-17.

In the semifinals on Saturday, the Anngia/Pia pair will face Huang Jia/Zhang Shu Xian pair of China, while Della/Rizki will clash against Japanese pair Erina Honda/Nozomi Shimizu, BWF noted on its official website.

The three other Indonesian doubles pairs, who lost in the quarterfinals, are mixed doubles pair Ricky Karandasuwardi/Pia Zebadiah Bernadet, who tasted defeat against Lee Jhe-Huei/Hsu Ya Ching of Chinese Taipei, 21-14, 12-21, 19-21, and men's doubles pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, who bowed down to Na Sung Seung/Wang Chan of South Korea, 16-21, 23-21, 12-21.

The other is women's doubles pair Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani/Tania Oktaviani Kusumah, who lost to Erina Honda/Nozomi Shimizu of Japan, 17-21, 19-21.
