Indonesia's oil and gas production averages 1.6 million bpd

Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Chief of the Kalimantan-Sulawesi Office of Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) Syaifuddin revealed that Indonesia's oil and gas production had touched an average of 1.6 million barrels daily.

"Our consumption is still far higher than the production. Since supply and demand are not balanced, we run short of it," he stated at the opening of the Education and Media Gathering 2019 in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Tuesday.

Hence, Syaifuddin highlighted the need for the country to conduct more oil and gas exploration activities to meet consumption.

To conduct on-field activities, SKK Migas needs inputs or criticism directed at enhancing industrial performance, he stated.

The Education and Media Gathering 2019 featured several speakers discussing the media’s role in building positive public opinion and the role of online media in supporting oil and gas upstream activities.
