Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesia Science Expo (ISE) 2019 is expected to boost collaboration on research and the application of research and innovation among stakeholders, Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI) Head Laksana Tri Handoko stated.

"Through this ISE, we witnessed several collaborations on research between institutions and also countries, as during this event, we also held various international conferences that facilitated interaction among researchers," Handoko remarked.

The ISE 2019 was held on Oct 23-26 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Serpong, South Tangerang.

A business matching will also be organized for industries keen on applying the outcome of research in science and technology.

Handoko affirmed that the event has encouraged the establishment of cooperation in at least 15 new areas annually.

ISE will serve as a platform to bring together public from varied backgrounds, including academicians, government institutions, industry, and students.

"The public can enjoy science activities that are aligned with their interests. It is expected to create interaction that will furthermore encourage collaboration," he stated.

ISE 2019 has over 300 booths to showcase the latest research in science and technology in Indonesia.

The exhibition is aimed at attracting 80 thousand visitors.

Some 10 international conferences will be held during the event, including on metallurgy, information technology, and computer application.
