YIWU, China--(Antara/BUSINESS WIRE)-- The 25th China Yiwu International Commodities (Standards) Fair kicked off on October 21-25, 2019 in the eastern city of Yiwu, the small commodities paradise in China. This year, the Fair features 1 “Standards Innovation” area, 1 “Quality Defined” area, as well as 9 “Standard Defined” areas to exhibit hardware, electromechanical facilities, stationery & office goods, daily necessities, electronic & electrical appliances, knitwear, sporting & outdoor products, toys, crafts & ornaments.

• Promote overseas deals

To promote export market diversity, Yiwu Fair 2019 proactively invited more than 20 professional buyers from Russia, India, Sri Lanka, Cameroon and other countries along the “Belt and Road”. In addition, industry procurement meetings and overseas procurement sessions will be held during the Fair to boost deals.

• Promote standard products

This year, “standards" is a highlighted theme. Over 1,600 booths, or 40% of the total, are prepared for “standard” exhibitors to showcase products in 9 categories, compared to last year’s 6. In “Standards Innovation (Household Appliances)” area, 34 enterprises exhibited their standards-compliant innovative products under different scenarios.

• Yiwu “Quality Defined” Zone

Standards lead quality improvement and promote international trade. In “Quality Defined” theme area, which is designed to showcase the high-quality products of Zhejiang Province, Yiwu Zone is set up for the first time this year to display the city’s quality brands and service commitments.

• Feature underdeveloped areas

This year, an exclusive exhibition area is set up to help 100 enterprises in underdeveloped regions expand their markets. Women's Federation Handicraft area is also set up to show hand-woven products, folk crafts, etc, to provide a buying and selling platform for the products that have market potential but are confined to underdeveloped regions.

• “Choice goods” area

A special "Market Innovation & Choice Goods” area is set up for the first time to promote the integration of the Fair and markets. In “Yiwu Choice Goods” zone, over 100 local brands and suppliers exhibited over 4,000 items that are up to national and industrial standards.

• Supporting activities for SMEs.

During the Fair, multiple supporting activities are held, including the China Commodity Market Summit and the SME Standardization (International) Conference 2019. Zhejiang Standardization White Paper will be published during the conference.
