Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir met with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif at the latter's office in Jakarta on Tuesday to hold discussion centering on the country's energy management.

During the hour-long meeting, Minister Thohir and Minister Tasrif discussed the realization of synergy between both ministries, according to information from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.

In accordance with President Joko Widodo's vision and mission, state-owned companies must be able to create job opportunities to spur the nation's economic growth.

Furthermore, they discussed the management of the country's energy and mineral resources in future, including those related to oil and gas, coal mineral, electricity and new and renewable energy.

In the Indonesia Onward Cabinet this time, the president urged ministries to not have their own vision and mission, and only the president and vice president have a vision and mission to conduct national development.

Furthermore, the president ordered every minister to continue to carry forward their predecessors' programs that have been on the right track.

The president instructed to efficiently use oil and gas to curb oil import duties. This is since by lowering oil and gas imports, the country will be able to curtail its state budget fund.
