Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), on Wednesday, summoned three witnesses in connection with an alleged case of bribery in the import of garlic in 2019

The three witnesses will face questioning in the case against former member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VI, identified by his initials as IYD, of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

"Today, the investigators are scheduled to question three witnesses in the case against IYD accused of being involved in bribery in applying for a permit to import garlic in 2019," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah stated in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The three witnesses are PT Abellux Money Exchange employee Jeany Wuryanti, PT Indocev commissioner Lilik Kelana Putri, and Made Ayu Ratih from a private party.

IYD allegedly received bribe, along with his confidant, identified by her initials as, MBS, and private individual, identified by his initials as, ELV

In the meantime, three people -- identified by their initials as CS alias A, the owner of PT Cahaya Sakti Agro, DW and Z, both private individuals -- accused of bribing the suspect are standing trial at the anti-corruption court in Jakarta.

The three have been accused of bribing IYD with Rp3.5 billion to secure a garlic import quota.
