Jakarta (ANTARA) - The realization of investment in the third quarter of 2019 rose 18.4 percent to Rp205.7 trillion against Rp173.3 trillion in the same period last year, according to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). The realization of investment from July to September 2019 also increased 2.6 percent compared to the previous quarter when the figure was recorded at Rp200.5 trillion.

"Cumulatively, the realized investment in the January-September 2019 period reached Rp601. trillion, accounting for 75.9 percent of the target of Rp792 trillion for 2019," BKPM Acting Deputy Head for Investment Realization Control Farah Ratnadewi Indriani said in Jakarta Thursday.

The realized investment of Rp205.7 trillion in the third quarter of 2019 comprised domestic investment of Rp100.7 trillion and foreign investment of Rp105 trillion.

From July to September 2019, transportation, warehousing and telecommunication, electricity, gas and water, construction, housing, industrial estate and office complex, food crop, plantation and husbandry were recorded as the top five investment sectors.

Jakarta topped the list of investment destinations, followed by West Java, East Java, Riau and Central Java,

In terms of foreign investment, Singapore emerged as the biggest investor with US$1.9 billion, followed by the Netherlands with US$1.4 billion, China with US$1 billion, Japan with US$0.9 billion and Hong Kong with US$0,4 billion.

The realization of investment in the third quarter of 2019 was still within the corridor of the institute's plan to achieve the investment target of Rp792 trillion for this year, BKPM Chief Bahlil Lahadalia said.
