Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) - The patrolling Navy took four citizens of Papua New Guinea into detention in the Skouw waters of Jayapura, Papua, on Wednesday, at around 5:30 a.m. local time for carrying 12 cacao sacks without legal documentation.

Commander of the Jayapura Navy Base X Brig. Gen. TNI Nurri Adrianis Djatmika stated here on Wednesday that the arrest was made when the boat, with four PNG citizens onboard, passed through the waters and raised suspicion.

Of the four foreigners, only one held a cross-border pass. Moreover, no legal documentation was furnished for the 12 sacks of cacao, he revealed.

Djatmika spoke of having reported to the quarantine agency and immigration office on the arrest, and the two institutions would follow further legal process against the four.

Agus Makabori, an immigration official, noted that his office will check the authenticity of the cross-border pass on behalf of Donny Morgan.

In the meantime, an official of the quarantine agency of the Jayapura Agriculture Office Jeam Hattu stated that documents for the cacao were fake and mentioned that the goods contained in the sacks are Masohi wood.

The four Papua New Guineans are identified as Donny Morgan (37), Austin Duhu (34), Caspar Marevi (36), and Leonard (23).
