Subang, W Java (ANTARA) - Seven people lost their lives, while 26 others suffered injuries after two buses rammed head-on into each other on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in Subang District, West Java Province, early Thursday.

The deadly accident involved the Arimbi Jaya Agung bus that was headed to Cikopo and the Sinar Jaya bus on its way to Paliaman.

According to preliminary results of on-scene investigation and some witnesses, the accident took place when the unsteady Sinar Jaya bus veered far to the right while at the same instant the Arimbi Jaya Agung bus was approaching from the opposite direction, Chief of Unit IX of the Cipali Highway Police Adjunct Commissioner Azis Syarifudin stated.

Consequently, the collision between the two buses was inevitable, he noted.

All victims have been taken to the Ciereng District General Hospital (RSUD) in Subang.
