On Thursday, November 14, Prabowo received a visit from Ambassador of Belgium to Indonesia Stephane De Locker at his office.
They discussed the obstacles facing Indonesia in exporting fishery products to EU countries, Secretary General of the Ministry, Nilanto Perbowo said.
"We have been negotiating this issue for the past three years, and next December we will sign the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Then, we hope to undertake duty-free trade in all fishery products," Perbowo noted.
With its known concern for fishery products, Indonesia always participates in the world's largest annual exhibition in seafood products, Seafood Expo Global, which many of Indonesia's seafood exporters join to showcase their products, Perbowo added.
The export commodities of Indonesia are mainly tunas, groupers, shrimps, octopus, and blue swimming crabs. (INE)
