Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Privately-run airline company TransNusa Aviation Mandiri plans to open two new flight routes in December 2019 to support the tourism industry in East Nusa Tenggara Province.

The two new flight routes are Kupang-Atambua and Kupang-Waingapu, PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri Regional Manager for East Nusa Tenggara Province Bepit Bartels stated in Kupang, the capital of East Nusa Tenggara Province, on Monday.

The airline company will serve the two flight routes seven times a week from December 1, 2019, using a 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft, he remarked.

Bepit noted that TransNusa Aviation Mandiri is also contemplating on opening a new flight route, connecting Kupang to Tambolaka, in mid-December 2019.

He is optimistic that the new flight routes connecting Kupang to Atambua, Tambolaka, and Waingapu, would boost the appeal of the tourism industry in the eastern part of Indonesia.

Fights to the three areas will ply in the mornings to enable tourists to garner optimum advantage of their vacation in each tourist destination they visit, he stated.

The fare for the Kupang- Waingapu flight route is Rp524,500 and the Kupang-Atambua flight route is Rp298,000, while the fare for the Waingapu-Kupang flight route is Rp509,600 and Atambua-Kupang flight route is Rp278,000.

Passengers travelling on the new flight routes are also exempt from paying baggage charge for up to 15 kilograms.
