Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian property tycoon Ciputra, the chairman and founder of Ciputra Group, breathed his last in Singapore on Wednesday at around 1 a.m. local time.

Rika Lestari, corporate communication of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk, confirmed the demise of Ciputra.

"Mr Eng. Ciputra, the chairman and founder of Ciputra Group, passed away peacefully in Singapore on November 27, 2019, at 1:05 a.m. Singapore time. We, the big family of Ciputra Group, convey our deepest condolences and pray for the family left behind to be patient and strong in going through this grief," she noted in a statement.

Details pertaining to the funeral procession are yet unknown. "We are still awaiting information on the dispatch of his remains from Singapore to Indonesia," she noted.

Ciputra, one of the founders of Tempo Magazine, passed away at the age of 88.
