Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the National Police General Idham Azis appointed Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Inspector General Gatot Eddy Pramono as vice police chief to replace Commissioner General Ari Dono, who is due to retire.

Eddy’s appointment to the vice police chief’s post is contained in the police chief's telegram number ST/3330/XII/KEP./2019, dated December 20, 2019.

"It is true that the telegram on the appointment of vice police chief has been issued," Chief of the National Police's Public Relations Bureau Brigadier General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono stated in Jakarta on Friday.

Yuwono noted that the tour of duty was a regular feature at every organization, including the National Police, as part of the refreshment and promotion programs to create high quality human resources to support its performance.

Inspector General Nana Sujana, currently chief of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Police, will replace Eddy as chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

In the meantime, Inspector General Tomsi Tohir, currently chief of the Banten Provincial Police, will replace Inspector General Nana Sujana as chief of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Police.

Assistant to the National Police Chief for Planning Inspector General Agung Sabar Santoso was installed as chief of the Banten Provincial Police.

Commissioner General Condro Kirono, who has entered retirement, will become a high-ranking officer of the National Police's Security Maintenance Board.
