Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Yoo Seung Hee, director of South Korea's Gyeongnam province office, Jakarta, paid a visit to the city government of Tangerang, Banten Province, for initial discussions on the sister city program encompassing varied fields, including technology.

Gyeongnam Province has been offered its three cities of Changwon, Gimhae, and Haman to forge relations with Tangerang through this program, marketing manager of Gyeongnam office in Jakarta, Anastasia, explained in Tangerang, Wednesday.

Tangerang was selected for several reasons, including its location that is "not so far from Jakarta, the capital."

"Furthermore, many Koreans stay here in Tangerang, which our data indicates around half of them come from Gyeongnam," Anastasia remarked.

For the next step, a further meeting is needed to discuss potential resources that both parties owned.
