Bandung, W Java (ANTARA) - Regional office of State Electricity Company (PLN), West Java, shut the power of 712 houses in areas, including Bekasi, Karawang, and Purwakarta, as well as Cikarang and Gunung Putri in Bogor, after flooding on Tuesday.

The office's General Manager, Agung Nugraha, urged people affected by the flooding to promptly evacuate to a safer place, as the miniature circuit breaker (MCB) had been turned off, thereby stopping the flow of current.

From the total number being cut off, as many as 621 houses are situated across Bekasi, while the other 20 are in Karawang.

After the floodwaters recede, residents are expected to call the PLN Contact Center at 123 to restore power to their houses after ensuring that all electronic devices are dry in order to guarantee safety.
