The ship reportedly arrived at 1 p.m. local time and anchored on the east side between Sebaru Kecil Island and Pantara Island, or some eight kilometers from the Sebaru Kecil pier.
As of 3:30 p.m. local time, no transfer was conducted of the passengers to Sebaru Kecil Island.
Two Landing Craft Utility (LCU) owned by KRI Dr. Suharso-990 will be deployed to transfer passengers.
LCU boats are usually used by amphibians to transport equipment and troops to the beach or dock. A LCU is estimated to be able to carry 60 personnel at a time.
The pickup scheme was revealed recently by Vice Admiral Yudo Margono, Commander of The First Joint Regional Defense Command of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI).
Indonesia had sent the navy ship to bring back 188 of its nationals working as crew aboard the World Dream cruise liner amid coronavirus concerns.
"We will observe them according to procedures set by the WHO (World Health Organization)," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy noted recently.
